What is a Mini
Content
Website?
A
mini site is quite different from a magazine
website. A magazine site tries to deliver huge amounts of information to a
target market.
Let's illustrate the difference with a video game
website example.
A video game magazine site might have information on
all kinds of games, strategies and systems.
On the other hand, a mini
content site is much smaller and includes highly focused information on one
topic. For example, you might make a mini content website about RockBand or
Call of Duty. This might include a review of the game, accessories and some
strategies. The purpose of the site would be to create a highly-targeted
mailing list of game-specific enthusiasts and to sell products related to that
game.
A mini-content site can easily attract traffic through search
engines and other methods. It is also highly-focused in its content so it
won't be so distracting for your visitors. A mini-content site won't likely
attract as much search engine traffic as a magazine site as it doesn’t have as
much content, but tends to have a higher sales conversion rate.
With a
mini-content site, you’ll want to keep your pages simple with just content
(how to advice, articles, etc.), relevant offers and a mailing list
subscription box.
